Italy coach Marcello Lippi has announced the final 23 man squad for this summers World Cup. Lippi had earlier announced the 30 man provisional squad, then later left out Fabio Grosso and Antonio Candreva and now the coach has excluded five more players from the team.

The five players excluded from the final squad are – Salvatore Sirigu, Mattia Cassani, Andrea Cossu, Marco Borriello and Giuseppe Rossi. It comes as a huge shock that Lippi has left out Rossi from the final squad.

Mauro Camoranesi was included in the squad despite suffering from a minor injury. Camoranesi said “I am feeling little bit of pain in my knee, but I am confident that it’s nothing too serious and I will be fine before the World Cup.”

Italy play their first match of the World Cup against Paraguay on June 14.
